Skylab II (SL-3) Flown Liquid Cooling Garment Tag and Name Tag Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Pilot Jack Lousma, Signed, with Signed COA. An odd-shaped swatch of cloth approximately 6" x 4" overall bearing the Beta cloth 3.5" x 2" garment tag and 3.5" x 0.75" "LOUSMA" name tag from the Liquid Cooling Garment worn by him during his two mission EVAs. The ILC Industries, Inc./ NASA garment tag bears the following information: Item "LIQUID COOLING GARMENT/ Part No. "A6L-400000-2.2"/ Size "J. LOUSMA"/ Serial No. "168"/ Spec. "CP1002"/ CEI No. "1002A"/ Code Ident. "74897"/ Date "5/72"/ Contract No. "NAS9-6100 (NASA)" Lousma has signed this tag: "Jack Lousma". The Liquid Cooling Garment was worn under the astronaut's spacesuit to maintain a comfortable and safe core temperature during extravehicular activity. It works by circulating cool water through a tubing network next to their body. During this Skylab mission, Lousma spent a little more than eleven hours in EVA, both accompanied by Science Pilot Owen Garriott. A rare and important relic of this record-setting mission. Excellent condition with some light toning.

Included with this lot is a letter of authenticity signed "Jack Lousma" on his letterhead, stating (in full): "I hereby certify that the accompanying Liquid Cooling Garment Tag & Name Tag, was cut from the garment mentioned, which I wore during my EVA's on Skylab II (SL-3) July 28-September 25, 1973. They are from my personal collection and have been in my possession since the mission."
