Description

Skylab II (SL-3) Flown Fisher AG-7 Space Pen Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Pilot Jack Lousma, with Signed COA. A 5.125" long, chrome-colored data recording pen, Model AG-7, manufactured by Fisher Pen Co. of Van Nuys, California. The Part Number "SEB12100051-208" and the Serial Number "1299" are both engraved into the cap. Added at the top is a piece of Velcro to facilitate attachment and storage inside the spacecraft. NASA needed a pen that would reliably write in zero-gravity; an inventor and pen maker named Paul Fisher developed such an item on his own and patented it in 1966. After extensive testing, NASA issued them to the astronauts for every mission from Apollo 7 on. Fine condition with some soiling on the barrel that could likely be cleaned.

Included with this lot is a letter of authenticity signed "Jack Lousma" on his letterhead, stating (in full): "I hereby certify that the accompanying silver metal pen, Serial Number 1299, was used by me and flown aboard Skylab II (SL-3) July 28 -- September 25, 1973. It is from my personal collection and has been in my possession since the mission."
