Rudy Vallee Signed Autobiography: Vagabond dreams Come True, (New York: E.P. Dutton & Co., 1930), 262 pages, number 172 of a limited edition of 299 signed copies, 8vo (6.5" x 9.5"), printed card covers, tooled gilt spine, additionally inscribed on front endpaper: "To Cliff Henderson whose efforts on behalf of his pet hobby -'aviation' will yet have us all air-minded. A real fellow! Sincerely Rudy Vallee." Sheer paper outer wrap deteriorating, else a very fine copy. Included is a loose print of the Vallee portrait appearing on the book's frontispiece. Crooner Rudy Vallee (1901-1986) was one of the 20th century's first true mega stars. That Vallee would present a copy of his book to Henderson indicates the aviation promoter's own elevated status in popular culture of the day. From the collection of Cliff Henderson.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
