Gordon Cooper: Great Living American Award from His Family's Collection. A beautiful 10.375" x 15" (sight size) colorfully-embellished certificate in a calligraphic style, framed to an overall 11.5" x 16.125". Presented by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States on April 30, 1962, at Washington, D.C., this gives the "Great Living American Award to the Project Mercury Team [including] Project Mercury Director Robert R. Gilruth [and] Astronauts Malcolm S. Carpenter, Leroy G. Cooper, Jr., John H. Glenn, Jr., Virgil I. Grissom, Walter M. Schirra, Jr., Alan B. Shepard, Jr., Donald K. Slayton For the outstanding contributions which these men have made to space science and technology..." It closes: "We salute and honor these men - and, through them, all those who serve in Project Mercury - and we present to them this Award as Great Living Americans." It is signed by Chamber President Richard Wagner and Chamber Executive Vice President Arch N. Booth and there is a ribboned seal at lower left. A prestigious award to one of the original "Mercury Seven" astronauts that would look great on your wall. Excellent condition with some minor rubbing on the frame.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
