WWI Aces Ernst Udet and Eddie Rickenbacker Photographs. Seven Udet photos, variously 8" x 10" and 12" x 9.75", plus twenty-four identical 8" x 10" glossy press photos of Eddie Rickenbacker congratulating an unidentified pilot, all images ca. early 1930s. Fine to excellent condition. One of the highlights of the 1931 Cleveland Air Races was the appearance of Germany's #2 WWI ace, Ernst Udet. Not only did Udet compete, but he publicly returned a war trophy to its original American owner in a gesture of goodwill. Udet, alcoholic and disillusioned with the Third Reich, would commit suicide some ten years later. From the collection of Cliff Henderson.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
