    Description

Group of 13 Historic Autogiro Photos Featuring Captain John M. Miller, all 8" x 10", taken at the Omaha Air Races, 1931. Miller was making the first autogiro transcontinental flight when these photos were made. His record, made with a Pitcairn PCA-2, stood until beaten in 2003! An excellent array of images ranging from cockpit close-ups to long range views of Miller's autogiro in flight. Lot includes a print showing two airborne autogiros. Fine condition. Johnny Miller, born in 1905, recently took his first glider flight at age 100. An amazing aviator, he flew the barnstorming circuit, participated in the 1930s air races and had a long career as a commercial pilot. From the collection of Cliff Henderson.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
