    Aviation History: Vin Fiz Flyer Pennant and Photographic Material. Unique collection of artifacts related to the coast-to-coast flight of the Vin Fiz Flyer in the fall of 1911. The group includes a full size (10" x 23.5") felt pennant with paper portrait of pilot Rodgers inscribed "Vin-Fiz Flyer New York to Los Angeles (light soiling and wrinkles), an 10" x 13" mounted photograph of the Vin Fiz flyer railroad car with support crew posed in front of it (chipping and loss to mount, but image intact), two 5" x 7" glass negatives of the Vin Fiz flyer in front of the support train and the official automobile, a 5" x 7" sepia-tone photo of the plane and support personnel, and a collection of forty-nine original 4.5" x 2.5" (and smaller) celluloid negatives related to the event. The pennant is signed by Rogers over his portrait. The lettering on the pennant is emerald green with applied glitter.
