    Description

Apollo Lunar Module Development File: Bound Grumman Letters, May 1966 - April 1967, Originally Classified. Another extremely rare Grumman document originally used and annotated by Ross Fleisig during Project Apollo, in original green pressboard binding. MIT materials originated by Tom Kelly ("Father of the LM"). This file covers the period through the January 27, 1967 Apollo 1 fire - with numerous notes in pencil by Guidance Systems Manager Ross Fleisig. Stamped and dated pages vary from photocopies and print-outs to carbons and mimeographs. Pages are stamped and receipt is acknowledged by Fleisig's signature. (Dr. Fleisig plays a prominent historical role in Charles Pellegrino's Chariots for Apollo). From cover-to-cover, this is very interesting reading for anyone familiar with the Apollo Lunar Module program. Some of the pages are red-stamped as Classified for twelve years: "This document contains information affecting the national defense of the United States within the meaning of the Espionage Laws, Title 18 U.S.C., Section 793 and 794." Very fine condition. From the collection of scientist and author Charles Pellegrino.
