DescriptionApollo 9 Flown Hasselblad EVA Camera Grip Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart, Signed and Certified. A black metal camera handle with a tripod-style screw with a knurled head protruding from one end (Part Number "SEB 33100013-003") and a swivel loop hook from the other. The overall dimensions are 1.5" x 5.25" x 0.75"; engraved on the long flat side is the Part Number "SEB33100013-301" and the Serial Number "1007". Attached to the grip is a 1" x 5.375" cloth utility strap with two snaps, Part Number "V35-601118-11". This particular grip allowed Schweickart to hold and use a 70mm Hasselblad camera during his thirty-seven+ minute EVA from the Lunar Module Spider on the fourth day of the mission, March 6, 1969. Schweickart has signed in silver along the curved long edge: "Camera Handle for EVA/ Flown on Apollo 9/ Rusty Schweickart". Excellent condition.
Included with this lot is a glossy color 8" x 10" photo (NASA image AS09-19-2982) of Schweickart holding the camera attached to this handle during his EVA. The image was taken from the Command Module Gumdrop.
