    Flown on two Apollo missions!

Apollo 9 and Apollo 15 Flown Couch Handles with Rockwell Parts Removal Tag, Presented to and Directly from the Personal Collection of Apollo 9 Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart, Signed and Certified. Two green metal parts, one 4.5" x 1.5" x 1.625" overall, the other 1.25" x 0.75" x 1.125". Both are mounted to a 9" x 6" wooden plaque with an engraved plate bearing the following text: "These couch handles were a functional part/ of the Command Modules Gumdrop during Apollo/ 9, March 2-13, 1969 and Endeavour during/ Apollo 15, July 26-August 7, Apollo Year 3./ Presented by the crew of Apollo 15 to:/ Rusty Schweickart". Mounted under a piece of glass on the verso is a yellow North American Rockwell "Temporary Parts Removal Tag" for this assembly giving a Part Number of "V36-000002-161" and a Serial Number of "S/C 112", dated August 20, 1971. A rarely seen item, these parts flew on both the first manned test of the lunar module in 1969 and then again on a trip to the moon and back aboard Apollo 15 in 1971. Schweickart has signed on the plaque: "Flown on Both Apollo 9 & 15/ Rusty/ Schweickart". The glue holding the parts to the plaque has dried out; there should be no problem re-gluing them onto the plaque. Otherwise, excellent condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
