DescriptionApollo 15 Flown National Flag of Poland Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Al Worden, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. A 6" x 4" cloth Polish flag that flew to the moon, July 26-August 7, 1971, aboard the Apollo 15 Command Module Endeavour. The design, adopted in 1919, consists of two equal horizontal stripes, white over red. Worden has signed along the bottom edge: "Flown to the Moon on Apollo 15 Al Worden CMP". Excellent condition.
Included with this lot is a letter of authenticity signed "Al Worden" on his letterhead, stating (in part): "I hereby certify that this flag from Poland included with this letter went to the moon aboard Apollo 15 in the spacecraft 'ENDEAVOUR'. It remained in the command module during the lunar orbit phase of the flight."
