Apollo 15 Flown National Flag of Egypt (United Arab Republic) Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Al Worden, Signed and Certified, with Signed LOA. A 6" x 4.5" cloth Egyptian flag that flew to the moon in 1971 aboard the fourth manned lunar landing mission, Apollo 15. This flag design was adopted in 1958 when Egypt and Syria united as the United Arab Republic. Even though Syria left the union in 1961, Egypt kept the name and the flag until 1971. Worden has signed along the bottom of the middle white stripe: "Flown to the Moon on Apollo 15 Al Worden CMP". This is the first space-flown Egyptian flag Heritage has had the privilege to offer. Excellent condition.

Included with this lot is a letter of authenticity signed "Al Worden" on his letterhead, stating (in part): "I hereby certify that this flag from Egypt (United Arab Republic, 1958-1971) included with this letter went to the moon aboard Apollo 15 in the spacecraft 'ENDEAVOUR'. It remained in the command module during the lunar orbit phase of the flight."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
