DescriptionApollo 13: "Steeds of Apollo" Limited Edition Artist-Signed Print by Mission Insignia Designer Lumen Winter. A 1981-dated 23" x 14.5" (sight size) color lithograph on textured paper numbered at lower left "166/500" and signed lower right "Lumen Winter", both in pencil. It is elegantly matted and framed to an overall 30.5" x 22". The printed caption beneath the image of four galloping horses reads: "Steeds of Apollo - the painting by Lumen Martin Winter chosen as the theme of the official insignia for the historic flight Apollo XIII by James Lovell - Fred Haise and Jack Swigert...Thomas Mattingly". This is based on a mural Mr. Lumen (1908-1982) painted for the St. Regis Hotel in New York. Excellent condition save for a few minor dings in the frame.
