    Stanley Gibbons #24 (Scott #14), 1856, 4c Magenta. (Used). An attractive used example of this legendary British Guiana 4c "Ship" issue bearing manuscript initials E.D.W (E.D. Wright, Postmaster) with all printed letters complete within clear margins, cut octagonally as usual and canceled by neat Berbice AU 1856 CDS (2 1/2 mm sealed tear at upper left, some thins on the reverse and a few surface abrasions) all common to this difficult and delicate issue: nevertheless very fine appearance and a quite desirable example of this popular rarity.
