Group of six exhibit pages demonstrating steps taken by the crown to prevent problems with the mails including early cancels (two G.B. 1d Blacks and a 2d Blue); silk threads (1847 1sh on cover); fugitive inks (including mint 1884 1sh Green); trial separations (an Archer experimental perf. 16 of 1850 on a 1d red, S.G. 16b, used); re-issuing stamps in different colors to counteract theft (Gold Coast 1889 20sh with Specimen ovpt. and 1894 20sh mint); and changing colors to avoid confusion (including Falkland Is. 1912 5sh Red (confused with the £1 on red paper, also included) replaced by a 5sh plum); G.B. 1883 Large 3d & 6d Surcharges mint; a generally F-VF group, though many of the G.B. high values have gum issues.
