    Expertization: PSE Encapsulated graded 98

AN INCREDIBLE 30¢ 1861 - WITH MORE THAN 110 USED EXAMPLES GRADED BY PSE TO DATE, ONLY A SINGLE EXAMPLE HAS SCORED HIGHER THAN THIS SUPERB 98, AND JUST ONE OTHER HAS BEEN JUDGED ITS EQUAL.

The 30¢ is notorious for being the most difficult of all the 1861 issue to locate well centered. Invariably, the perforations are close or touching at the sides. The example offered here, with its centering, margin size, color and impression is the finest we have sold.
