A SIMPLY AMAZING 30¢ SMALL BANK NOTE

30c Black (228), top margin imprint single, precisely centered with huge margins, an intense prooflike impression on fresh, bright paper, and immaculate, never hinged original gum; Extremely Fine to Superb. Scott $1,300.

    SMQ $10,200 for a normal 95

    Expertization: PSE Encapsulated graded 95J

WITH ITS JET BLACK COLOR, BRIGHT PAPER, POST OFFICE FRESH QUALITIES AND AMAZING CENTERING AND MARGINS, THIS IS EASILY THE FINEST 30¢ SMALL BANK NOTE WE HAVE HANDLED OR CAN EVER RECALL SEEING.

Unlike the other values in this set, including even the 90¢, the 30¢ is rarely seen with the large margins of the present example. This is one of only two 30¢ to have been awarded the 95J graded by the PSE, with only one higher (98).
