    24c Dark Violet, Re-Issue (109), exceptionally well centered with fresh vibrant color, a razor sharp impression and lightly hinged original gum; Extremely Fine to Superb. Scott $6,500.

    A SINGLE MAGNIFICENT MINT EXAMPLE OF THE 24¢ RE-ISSUE, POSSESSING EXQUISITE COLOR, A PROOFLIKE IMPRESSION, AND INCOMPARABLE CENTERING- A RE-ISSUE AT THE VERY PINNACLE OF QUALITY.

    The 24¢ re-issue is in the opinion of most philatelists the most difficult of the re-issue set to locate in sound, well centered mint condition. The example offered here more than qualifies. The color is as fresh as the day it was printed. The beautifully etched impression reveals every detail of the exquisite engraving used on the denomination. And the centering is as fine as exists. The present example is the PSE's highest graded mint single to date, with only one other single achieving this grade.
