AN IMMACULATE MINT SINGLE IN THE FINEST STATE OF PRESERVATION, WITH NO IMPERFECTIONS OR DISTRACTIONS WHATSOEVER. THE HIGHER OF THE TWO GRADED NEVER HINGED INVERTED JENNYS.

    Expertization: PSE Encapsulated graded 80

We think it safe to say that the inverted Jenny is the most well known and highly sought after stamp in the world. Every time a Jenny is offered for sale it is an event. How much more so when the Jenny is
never hinged! And we will make the argument here that this is most likely the finest existing never hinged example.

According to Amick in his seminal work
The Inverted Jenny: Money, Mystery, Mania (Amos Press 1986), there are up to 8 potential never hinged examples. Four of these we can eliminate due to condition factors (straight edges, paper spot, perf thin). Two additional singles have not been offered in nearly 30 years or over 50 years, respectively. Has their gum survived the ravages of time? Maybe even more to the point, would the gum stand up to today's strict standards for "never hinged". We cannot answer these questions until, and if, these stamps are submitted for new certification. And last, of course, are the two examples certified and graded by the PSE: one graded 75 and the other is the current example, which is graded 80.

To conclude, we know there are two premium, never hinged inverted Jenny's, and perhaps two others. The distinct possibility exists that this is indeed the
    finest never hinged Jenny extant.
