    Transient Newspapers, 3-4 Oz. Over 100 Miles - Two Cents

    1852, November 1, Quincy, Ill. to W. Portland, Me. The Quincy Whig, four pages, 20" x 27", franked with a four margin pair of 1851 1c Type IIIa (8A) from plate 1E with sheet margin at left, tied by Nov 1 Quincy c.d.s.; couple microscopic tears right stamp and minor flaws in paper, still Fine to Very Fine and quite rare. This is the only recorded example of a pair of 1¢ imperfs on a newspaper.
