#RW39P, 1972, $5.00 Multicolor. (Slightly Disturbed Original Gum). Imperforate Plate Proof on Gummed Stamp paper. Superb. 2008 PF Certificate; "genuine, with slightly disturbed OG." ...

The Scott Catalog has very similar item listings for RW 1-12P2 (small die proofs which catalog from $6,000 - $17,500 each). Die proofs are taken from the actual die to a selected paper type, whereas Plate Proofs are taken from an actual printing of the stamp prior to issue. Plate Proofs may be worth more or less, as they are imperforate specimens removed from an actual sheet ready for perforating and issue, and serve as a test of the accuracy of the plate. Inasmuch as each of the Federal Duck Proofs offered in this sale are a new discovery and thus far, the
only examples certified by the Philatelic Foundation, we feel our $5,000 estimate per item to be rather conservative.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
