A "Piece de Resistence in anyone's collection" is how this captivating block is described in a Dec. 1898 Weekly Philatelic Gazette article. A magnificent block of twenty (5x4) showing ink loss due to the presence of a thread between the printing plate and paper, or even more correct, showing that the thread was impressed into the paper under the pressure of the printing plate... Either way, an extraordinary show piece, with original gum, previously hinged, with some hinge reinforced separations to help preserve this Very Fine and unique showpiece; 2008 PF Certificate...
