    Description

ONE OF THE FINEST MINT EXAMPLES OF THE DIFFICULT $1

$1 Black (311), centered with near-mathematical precision amid large symmetrical margins with rich, dark color, enhanced by the razor sharp impression, and pristine, never hinged original gum; Post Office fresh and Extremely Fine to Superb. Scott $2,100.

    SMQ $10,200

    Expertization: PSE Encapsulated graded 95

A MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE OF THE VERY DIFFICULT HIGH VALUE.

The $1 1902-3 issue normally has small margins and centering is often not the best. This example is the antithesis of the norm. The centering is virtually perfect and the margins, compared to virtually all we've seen, are bordering on Jumbo. Given the stamp's other qualities, the intense color, pristine original gum, the full even perforations- this example is certainly at the top of its grade and may well deserve one grade higher.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
