Richard Gordon Signed Large Apollo 12 "Earthrise" Style Color Photo with Extensive Handwritten Description and Photographic Provenance. A 20" x 16" silk finish photo on Kodak Endura paper of a "crescent earth" rising above the lunar horizon. It is signed boldly in silver felt tip: "While Pete Conrad and Alan Bean landed on the 'Ocean/ of Storms', I piloted our Command Module 'Yankee Clipper'/ around the moon. I mapped and photographed Fra Mauro/ and Descartes landing sites for Apollo 14 and 16./ Richard Gordon/ Apollo 12 Command Module Pilot/ November 19-20, 1969". An uncommon and beautiful image, perfect for display. Included with this lot is a color photo of Gordon as he signs a group of these photos. Lower left corner bumped. Very fine.Auction Info
