Description
Neil Armstrong Signed NASA X-15 Color Photo. An uncommon 8" x 10" silk finish photo of a helmeted Armstrong in the cockpit of a parked X-15, likely ship #1, taken at Dryden Flight Research Center, circa 1961. Armstrong, before his 1962 selection as an astronaut, was a test pilot and flew seven times on the X-15; he was one of the first three NASA pilots to fly the rocket-powered aircraft. The photo is signed at upper right: "To Mathew Luthe/ With Best Wishes/ Neil Armstrong". A few minor dings, overall very fine.Auction Info
