John F. Kennedy "We Choose to Go to the Moon" Speech: Four Vintage Glossy Photos Taken on September 12, 1962, at Rice Stadium, from the Personal Archives of NASA Legend Bill Taub. All four are 10" x 8" B&W prints, unnumbered, no press captions. JFK is shown in all four (two from the back). Also shown on the podium are Representative Albert Thomas, Rice President Dr. Kenneth Pitzer, and NASA Administrator James Webb. This is the famous speech made to bolster public support for his proposal to land a man on the moon before the decade was out: "We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard." Very fine.

NOTE: The photos from this archive were the inspiration for the recent book by J. L. Pickering and John Bisney, Photographing America's First Astronauts, Project Mercury Through the Lens of Bill Taub. A beautiful book from the Purdue University Press. Highly recommended.
