Frank Borman Signed "Earthrise" Color Photo with Added Quote
from Christmas Eve Broadcast. A 10" x 8" NASA litho print of
the iconic photo taken while Apollo 8 was orbiting the moon in
December 1968. Borman has signed boldly in black felt tip: "Good
Luck.../ All of you on the Good Earth/ Frank Borman/ Apollo 8
Commander". During their ninth lunar orbit, the crew made a
live television transmission back to earth with each giving their
impressions of what they were seeing after which they read the
biblical creation story found in Genesis 1:1-10. Borman closed out
the broadcast with the message he partially quotes here: "And from
the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a Merry
Christmas and God bless all of you - all of you on the good Earth."
An excellent display piece from this landmark mission. The
possibility exists to add James Lovell's autograph through a show
or private signing. Excellent.
