Mercury Seven Astronauts: 1965-Dated Story Rights Contract Signed by Six along with Their Wives, Missing only John and Annie Glenn, Originally from Deke Slayton's Personal Collection. Four pages, 8.5" x 13" October 8, 1965, no place, signed in various inks on pages three and four: "M. Scott Carpenter", "Leroy G. Cooper, Jr", "Virgil I Grissom", "Walter M Schirra Jr", "Alan B Shepard, Jr", "D K Slayton", "Rene Carpenter", "Trudy Cooper", "Betty Grissom", "Josephine Schirra", "Louise Shepard", "Marjory Slayton", and "Harry A. The contract states that these six astronauts (John Glenn had retired from the astronaut corps by this time) "have been selected to train for participation in Projects Gemini, Apollo and other Space Flight Projects of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration... the above named astronauts and their families have valuable rights to stories of their personal experiences in connection with these Projects..." and that the astronauts "have selected and hereby appoint Harry A. Batten to represent them in the sale of the rights they may have arisen out of the Projects..." A great item; the wives' signatures are seldom seen together. Several folds, some stains, very good.
