Description
Apollo 11 Flown Heat Shield Plug in Lucite Display on Wooden Base. A 1.25" x 1.25" diameter threaded ablative plug with metal cap and RTV O-ring, from the aft heat shield; there is a number #7 scratched into the bottom. Enclosed in a 2.625" tall x 3" diameter clear acrylic cylinder. The acrylic is seated in a wooden desktop display measuring 5" x 7" x 1.25". Engraved on metal plaque below the plug is: "Apollo 11/ July 16-24, 1969". Flown material from this mission is always extremely desirable. Very fine condition with general light surface scratches.Auction Info
