Apollo 17 Crew-Signed U.S.S. Ticonderoga Recovery Ship Cover. An Airmail philatelic cover with a U. S. Navy Pacific Recovery Force stamped cachet, hand-canceled onboard the Ticonderoga on the mission splashdown date of December 19, 1972. Signed in various inks by the crew: "Gene Cernan", "H H Schmitt", and "Ron Evans". Excellent.

Apollo 17 splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on December 19, 1972, concluding the final crewed mission to the Moon. The Command Module America was recovered by the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga (CVS-14) after a successful landing near American Samoa. Astronauts Eugene Cernan, Harrison Schmitt, and Ronald Evans were safely retrieved by Navy recovery teams, marking the close of the Apollo lunar program.
