Cased FN Browning Centenary Funeral Grade Sideplated Double Barrel Shotgun.Serial no. 268CENT005, 16 gauge, 27 1/2-inch barrels with solid matted rib and front brass bead sight. Blacked finish. Funeral grade gold wire line and scroll inlay on highly polished and blacked sideplated receiver, triggerguard, tang safety, forearm latch and bottom tang. Bottom of receiver marked: FN / 1889 CENTENARY / 1989 accented in gilt. Triggerguard numbered 05/10. Finely checkered figured walnut stock straight stock and splinter fore-end. Double triggers with articulated front trigger. Checkered butt. Chokes: 0.010 / 0.027 inches (Improved Cylinder / Light Full). Pull: 14 5/8-inch. Weight: 5 pounds, 13 ounces. Contained in Browning fitted leather take-down case with factory plaque to front. Inside lid with black label reading: 1889-1989 CENTENARY EDITION. gold felt lining. Sold along with cleaning brushes, three-piece cleaning rod, silver oiler, snap caps and literature. These were made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of John Moses Browning, hence the funeral grade motif. They were made for distribution in England and European markets and were not imported to the U.S. by either factory. Very rare and highly collectible Browning.
