**Cased 20 Gauge Boss Single Trigger Sidelock Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun. Serial no. 9310. 20 gauge. 26-inch barrels with file cut flat rib. Barrels marked: Boss & Co. / 13 Cork Street, London. W1. Casehardened bar action engraved with very fine scroll and bouquets. Ejectors. Cocking indicators. Automatic safety. Beaded fences. Disc-set strikers. Maker's patented single non-selective trigger. Beaded triggerguard. Finely checkered straight grip stock of figured contrasting dark walnut. Drop points. 5/8 inch brown leather covered recoil pad. Vacant gold oval. Finely checkered splinter fore-end with Anson-style release. Period brown leather trunk case with maker's label. Case with single brass lock and leather straps. 28 Boss written on lid written on lid in ball point pen at the front. Maroon baize interior. Cleaning rod. Red leather case with cleaning accessories. Red leather case with spiral brushes. Nickel plated square oil bottle marked: Purdey. Nickel plated snap caps, cartridge extractor and striker container with strikers and springs. The maker indicates that the gun was finished in 1965 with 26-inch barrels, 2 ¾ inch chambers, a single trigger, and a stock length of 16 inches.Data: Barrel Dimensions: Bores 0.615/0.615 inches. Chokes: 0.010/0.016 inches (Improved Cylinder/ Modified). Chambers: 2 ¾ inches. Minimum wall thickness: 0.035 inches. Proof: London, Nitro, .615, .615, 2 ¾, 3 ¼ tons. Stock Dimensions: Pull: 15 5/16 inches. Drop at comb: 1 3/8 inches. Drop at heel: 2 1/8 inches. Cast-off: 3/8 inches. Weight: 5 pounds, 13 ounces.
Condition: Excellent. Barrels show 96-98% bluing with some light scratches and a mark in front of the fore-end. Excellent bright bores. Action shows 80-90% muted case colors. Triggerguard shows 85-90% blued finish. Stock shows a few very light scratches and nicks and some areas of raised grain. Finish coated gold oval. Case in very good condition with a few scratches and scuffing and losses at the edges. Interior shows some losses on the lid.
