Serial no. 4448. 12 gauge. 27-inch sleeved barrels with game rib marked: 1 in gold (Gun was number 1 of a pair). Rib marked: Boss & Co., 73 St. James' Street, London. Polished action with 8-pin locks. Action and locks engraved with fine foliate scroll and bouquets. Single nonselective trigger. Ejectors. Automatic safety. Beaded fences. Cocking indicators. Finely checkered replacement pistolgrip stock of contrasting straight grain walnut with some slight figure. Drop points. Checkered butt. Round knob. Gold oval with crest. Finely checkered splinter fore-end with Anson-style release. Period dark leather oak and leather case with brass corners, furniture and single lock. Red baize interior with maker's label , instructions and correspondence on lid. Snap caps. Additional set of 12 gauge Boss barrels that need to be fitted to the gun. Serial no. 6249 (Lump is marked 4179). 29-inch chopperlump barrels with game rib marked: Boss & Co. 13 Dover Street, London Piccadilly, London, W. and a number 1 in gold.

    Condition: Excellent, as redone. Barrels show 98-99% reblued finish. Excellent bright bores. Polished action. Triggerguard shows worn reblued finish. Stock shows a few light marks. Fore-end shows refreshed checkering. Case in fair to good condition. Exterior shows nicks, scratches and scuffs. Interior shows wear, staining and losses to partitions. Label and instructions are oil soaked. Additional barrels in Fine condition and show 96-98% bluing with some small marks. Excellent bright bores show some light frosting ahead of the chambers. Right barrel shows two small dents.
