Lincoln and Douglas Both in Attendance

Zachary Taylor: Inauguration Ball Invitation. 5 1/2" x 8" engraved invitation on coated white stock, titled: "Without Distinction of Party. 1849. National Inauguration Ball." There is a long list of managers, including Webster, Calhoun, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, Joe Johnston and an exiting Congressman from Illinois named Abraham Lincoln who had failed to make much of an impression during his sole term in office. He was only hanging around the nation's capital long enough to attend the inauguration ball. He left for Springfield the next day to resume his law practice with little hope of a return to the national spotlight. Minor crease, edge discoloration and a few pinholes, but generally a very fine example. There were two varieties of the Taylor inauguration ball invitations produced. This is decidedly the rarer variety.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
