    Description

William Z. Foster: Communist Party Jugates. Set of three litho jugates, ranging in size from 7/8" to 1 1/8". The key item in the group is a "Michigan Defense" button featuring Foster and Charles Emil Ruthenberg, head of the CPUSA. It relates to a secret conclave held at Bridgman, Michigan in 1922 that sought to reconcile opposing factions. It has a faint scratch between the portraits, but is in otherwise excellent condition. There is a 7/8" Foster-Gitlow jugate from 1928 and an 1 1/8" Foster-Ford jugate from 1932, both with normal light scratches and nicks typically associated with lithos.
From the collection of Ed Sullivan.
