    Description

William McKinley: Classic "Eclipse" Button Rarity. Inspired by a widely publicized solar eclipse in 1900, there were several different designs employing this theme. "Partial Eclipse Will be Total in November", it accurately predicts. An unimprovable example of the 1 1/4" variety, with deep, rich sepia tones. Even the button paper on verso is near mint. Made by the Indianapolis Photo Button Mfg. Co., which produced some of the finest sepia political button designs. From the collection of Sam and Jeff Pressman.
