DescriptionWilliam McKinley: Assorted National Wheelmen's Bicycle Club Ephemera. 1) Marcus A. Hanna Typed Letter signed in type [marked copy], October 14, 1896, from Republican Headquarters in Chicago to James B. Dunn of the "Wheelman's Department" expressing appreciation of the participation of the various wheelmen's clubs and soliciting further involvement. 2) 5.5" x 8.5" bifolium brochure advertising excursion rates to "Wheelmen's Day At the Home of Hon. Wm. McKinley" on October 2, 1896 (toning with minor loss to back side). 3) Pair of membership enrollment postcards to the "National Wheelmen's McKinley & Hobart Club" (damage/loss to front of one example and back of the other example, but can be displayed in conjunction with one another). 4) Small green card soliciting membership in the club (minor loss on verso from previous mounting in album). 5) 3/4" celluloid stud advertising the Halladay bicycle, attached to red silk ribbon inscribed "Marion Cycle Co. Wants McKinley".
