William Henry Harrison: Massive 1840 Campaign Pitcher, Widely Regarded as the Premier 19th Century Ceramic Political Display Item. One really must see the scale of this 11.375" pitcher in person to fully appreciate its display presence. This is the scarcer variety having all six sides with Harrison's portrait versus other varieties having only four portraits. "The Ohio Farmer" and log cabin are above the portraits and his name below. Manufactured by the American Pottery Company of Jersey City, New Jersey, and is coveted both by political collectors and enthusiasts of American-made pottery (the vast majority of political ceramics of this era were manufactured in England or France for the American market). The condition is outstanding having just a few nicks on the top rim. A premier display piece.
