    Description

Wendell Willkie: Rarest of the Joe Louis For Willkie Buttons. The famed "Brown Bomber" was one of Willkie's prominent celebrity endorsers. Modern collectors tend to forget that for decades the African-American vote, which now a trends heavily Democratic, largely went to the party of Lincoln. There were various types of picture and slogan pin backs linking Willkie and Lewis. This one came in both 1" and 1¼" sizes and the present copy is the much rarer version. Only a handful are known in this 1" size. Great condition.
