Ulysses S. Grant: Personally-Owned Cotton Necktie. Collectors are always pestering celebrities with requests for autographs and other souvenirs. In the early 1880s, someone asked U. S. Grant for his autograph. They got something ever better... his necktie! This cotton necktie measures 32" x 1" and is neatly folded in eighth's. It is accompanied by an index card sent by Grant's son, inscribed: "Genl. Grant being no longer able to write his auto for his friends, I take the liberty of sending you one of his neckties hoping this will gratify you. I remain, & c. F. D. Grant." It is sold with a CDV of Grant and an envelope a previous owner used to store the keepsake. The tie is in great shape... no need to send it to the cleaners!

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
