    Description

Truman & Donaldson: A Rare Jugate Button Variety. This sought-after design is a top want for many advanced Truman specialists. It shows Harry with his Missouri political ally and Postmaster General choice in 1946, Jesse M. Donaldson. Almost certainly a 1948 convention item. The 2" button itself, made by St. Louis Button Company, is in choice condition. By comparison, the original ribbon shows light aging, but displays very nicely as seen in the photo. Overall length 8.75".

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
