    Description

ZACHARY TAYLOR MEDAL VERY SCARCE ORIGINAL STRIKE. Impressive, large Zachary Taylor medal 1848-4 in Sullivan.  This is the very scarce original strike, not the usually-seen c.1860 prooflike restrike.  Very Fine or better, with a slightly granular surface.  Very pleasing patina, decribed by Sullivan as "resembling pewter."
