    Description

    William Pitt: Significant 1766 Stamp Act Repeal Token. 27 mm silvered brass token with bust of Pitt on the obverse ("The Restorer of Commerce No Stamps 1766"). The reverse has the ship "America" and reads "Thanks to the Friends of Liberty and Trade". Moderate wear. Retains about 25% of the original silvering. Considered one of the first American political items. Silvered specimens are far rarer than plain examples. Breen 251. Betts 519.
