Three Examples of the 1864 George McClellan "One Flag and One Union Now and Forever" Medalet in Brass, Copper, and White Metal. All three measure 34mm and are listed as GMcC 1864-8. McClellan was Lincoln's biggest rival in the election and he opposed his policy and campaign at every turn! The brass example is in uncirculated condition with a handsome dark patina on both sides; there are some minor abrasions on the obverse as well as some dark areas on the points of higher relief on the reverse. The copper example has a rich brown-red appearance and has some minor flecks on the obverse. The reverse is again marked by darkening on the points of higher relief; namely the eagle and the wreath surrounding it. The white metal piece is holed and has little of its reflective surface quality remaining on the obverse. The reverse is shiny and clean.
