Three examples of the 1860 Stephen Douglas "Champion of Popular Sovereignty" Medalet in Brass, Copper, and White Metal. The dies for this medalet were made by Lovett of Philadelphia. All three examples measure 28mm and are listed as Sullivan-Dewitt SD 1860-9. The brass example has some light toning and dark areas but still has much of its reflective qualities. The copper piece is in uncirculated condition with only a few minor abrasions on the reverse. The white metal example is still highly reflective and only shows minor age and wear in the form of scratches and darkening. A nice lot with all three examples of a handsome medalet!
