Theodore Roosevelt: Spanish American War Encampments. Interesting group of three items related to the cavalry units associated with Teddy Roosevelt and the Spanish American War. The lot includes: a graphic calling card of "Clyde L. Danforth, Thompson, Mont. Troop C, Roosevelt Rough Rider, U.S.V." stationed at Camp Wikoff Montauk Point, and two Souvenir badges with Maltese Cross drops each depicting a standing soldier in a camp setting. The gold-stamped silk grosgrain ribbons are inscribed" "U.S.V. Camp Thomas, Chickamauga Park, Ga. 1898" and "Camp Wikoff Montauk Point 1898". Rough Rider calling cards are exceptionally rare and seldom appear in the market. Clyde Danforth was one of the few soldiers that were actually deployed to Cuba. The war was of such short duration that many never made it past U. S. mainland camps.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
