    Description

Sought-After 1828 John Quincy Adams Medal
A true classic and a key piece for an elusive candidate! Sullivan JQA-1828-1. This large piece from the bitterly contested election of 1828 (where Jackson sought "pay-back" after the Corrupt Bargain of 1824) rarely appears on the market in decent condition. Both this and the Jackson mate were produced in England and exported to America. Conservatively grades VF or better. The obverse (with eagle) has some minor dings and rim bruises. The reverse has three spots of tin pest. Overall, quite lustrous and a high grade specimen, missing in most collections. 46 mm. From the Joe Brown Collection.
