    Description

Polk & Dallas: Rare 1844 Campaign Medal. 39mm. White metal. By R. Lovett, New York. This large campaign medal features Polk's portrait on one side and the caption "Young Hickory Press Onward - Enlarge the Boundaries of Freedom". The other side features a portrait of Dallas and the caption "Dallas & Victory. Equal Protection to All Classes". The original suspension hole appears to have been slightly enlarged and affects the "D" in Dallas's name. The medal is worn at the highlights but is in otherwise good condition.
