    Description

    Nice 1880 Hancock Medal
Sullivan WSH-1880-1 in silvered white metal. The mate to the Garfield piece offered elsewhere. Hancock memorabilia is particularly elusive and this is the best token issued. Hancock had the better war record by far, but it seems the country wasn't ready for a Democratic president who looked like Colonel Sanders! Choice, with lovely, blue gun-metal toning. 32 mm. From the Joe Brown Collection.
