Jefferson Davis Group- Two Medals and One Carte de Visite. This lot features three items related to Confederate President Jefferson Davis. The first is a carte de visite with Davis in full pre-Civil War U.S. Army uniform facing left. It measures 2.5" x 4" and is in excellent condition; only some slight soiling around his face and some writing on both sides. The second item is an 1861 brass token that depicts Jefferson Davis hanging on the gallows and reads "Death To Traitors" on the reverse. This coin measures 29mm and is in almost uncirculated condition with some scratches on the reverse and a nice mellow patina. The third and final item is an 1887 white metal medalet that was presented as a memento at the "Reunion of Confederate Veterans at the Georgia State Fair on Oct. 26, 1887." The obverse features a lovely high relief portrait of Davis as well as his name. This coin is in uncirculated condition aside from some edge nicks and adhesive residue. A nice trio of items to add to any Davis collection.
